*Local Pups We Often See*

On Sundays local pups& folks who have seen us and tag along, meet at Milford's Central Park at noon, then we walk the town, for about 45 minutes, then back at the park, we do a few obedience exercises, let the dogs meet and greet.

Folks meet most Thursday evenings and Sundays at  noon, weather permitting.  In summers past, there's been concert crowds, and several local eateries have outside tables and water dishes.

It's all about socialization!

Beau has been working with Heather at the Senior Center daily, and visiting the hospital weekly. With a mellow, confident demeanor obvious early on, he took awhile longer to grow into those ears, but as you can see, he's done that very well.

He enjoy's living with his packmate Ozzie, who is a year older from the E litter.--------------------------------------->

At the rate he's going, we expect him to obtain therapy certification at a young age.

(Beau was Mr.Black from the G litter)

Judy-
Attached is a recent addition to GiGi's portfolio. She has been nominated for AKC's Award for Canine Excellence in the Therapy Dog category! Now we wait for the determination. We are crossing our fingers that she will win! On 5/2/09 GIGI obtain an AKC Novice Rally Title by winning her second and third legs of the title. We are so proud of her and all of her achievements. She showed against three to five year old dogs and did well. Typically it take six tries to get the title and she did it in three which is the minimum.

Hi, Judy!
Heres a picture of our snow bunny.  She cries at the door wall when it starts snowing because she loves to play in it. Maggie is so awesome - what a personality !!! As for jumping, she's much better.  She's maturing and acting more lady like.  She's such a fantastic dog - we're so lucky to have her! Take care!

Hi Judy - 05/03/09
I will got a couple pics of Bear while when we were out riding.  He did so great today!  He loves to go and of course, needs the exercise.  He is the best trail dog ever! Is cognizant of the horses and their feet and yet never leaves our side. He did wonderfully when a big lab came up on us today and he just kept right  with us. We are so proud of him! You have blessed us with Bear Jr!  My brother was down from MI and told me to keep your card as when he is ready he says he wants a Bear Jr too!  BJ is excellent at the barn.  I call his name and he turns around in mid air to come running back to me! I had heard that off leash training could be challenging but it has been a snap with him.

I trust all is well with you and yours. Hope all is well with y'all!
  Love, Brenda and Dave

My friend Tracey took pictures of Nikko, taken in September, he is a handfull, he is a Momma's boy, he follows me everywhere, I dont put him on a leash on our property, the trainer says he will eventually run from me, I think not, he is always looking for me...He & Dakota are buddies, Dakota protects him from my sister's dog when she growls at him, it is funny. -Kellie & James

Hey Judy!
Busy summer! Here's a shot of Bronc with my niece last Spring. He has grown a lot since then. I recently saw a Shepherd winning a major dog show. The feet were hare like and flat and it was so angulated in the back the dog could never work. Bronc is so magnificent and is a true working dog with a strong functional build. I am glad to have found your program. This is what a Shepherd should be like. -Jeannie

Hi Judy-
Here's a shot of Sirius on our backpacking trip this summer. My sons, Jack and Jason and I went to the Rockies in Colorado and did two passes over 11,000 ft. Sirius was great on the trip and in the car ride on the way there and back she just slept with the kids in the back seat. Sirius still has cat issues, but she's never hurt a cat or our ducks or chickens, she just likes to chase them. I haven't given up on training her out of this, in fact she's doing better as she gets older. Other than that, she's a great dog and she's so beautiful, we get lots of compliments on her looks.
Thanks,Jennie

Hi Judy -
I can finally send you an update on Maya since my computer has been repaired.  She is doing great.  Last week, Maya weighed 33 pounds.  We started obedience class last week and although almost 3 months younger than another female shepherd in the class, they are about the same size.  Maya's two favorite activities is going to the beach to play with her pal Q and tagging along with me at my high school track practice.  Everywhere we go we get lots of compliments and we have you to thank for that.  This weekend Maya will attend the Doggy Days of August here in Lake Orion.  A big opportunity for her to socialize.

Hello Judy- 07/19/08
It was good talking to you yesterday! Life with Samson is awesome, he's such a good boy. He is very smart and loves to learn. We get lots of compliments from people when he's out for walks. He has many doggie friends in the neighborhood and his favorite friend is Kayla my son's friend's boxer. She comes over frequently for sleep overs and the two of them play and wrestle for hours. She has even taught Samson how to "box". You've never seen anything until you've seen a shepard box! Samson is very watchful over the family, at night he roams from room to room to make sure everyone is in bed and safe. He'll sleep for awhile in each room and often will climb up in bed. There have been times in the night when I can here him romping down the hall and he comes out in full run, leaps into the air and full out body slams me when I'm trying to sleep. Then he'll settle in next to me lay his head on the pillow and go to sleep. He and my son are the only males in the house and they have bonded like two best friends. Danny has taught him so much and they love to go to the lake together for much needed energy release and exercise. I love looking at all the pics on-line of your latest litters and hopefully some day we can adopt another shepard. We have been truly blessed with our Samson and he would love a little brother or sister. Keep in touch, -Kathy
(Samson is from the A litter DOB 6/23/06, now 2 years old)

Judy-
Wow, this little guy just loves the water. We figured he ould when we filled up an adult size bowl with water the other day and he jumped right in it with all four paws. Kahne got to meet Bo, yesterday who is a 20 week old male Black Labrador retriever that our friends own. They hit it right off and he is well on his way to socializing with other dogs and people. Thanks again Judy, for everything. I have signed and filled out all the paperwork, and plan on sending it out today or Monday. Stay tuned, as well will be continually sending you future updates on Kahne's progress.

Hi Judy, 05/31/08
Buddy is doing well, he is getting his duck and trout and lots of it and it sure has made a difference. No more scrounging around the kitchen counter, trying to eat the toaster! Although he's still an extremely high energy boy, he's content and filling out nicely. He's all about kissing faces, and listens very well. All in all, everything's going well.
My dad is probably trying to do too much and often gets pretty tender in his hip area, but at least he has the choice now. I remember a year ago when I was checking your site every day for new pictures of the puppies, and my dad wasn't even having any problems with his hip yet. A year can bring a lot of changes, that's for sure!
You might feel like you have to repeat the message over and over about nutrition and vaccination choices but it's worth it if it educates other dog owners and improves the health and life expectancy of the dogs!
So, I'll be visiting your site and watching the babies grow.....wistfully.    I'm sure things are as busy as they can be with your son's graduation and all the puppies, but both of those things are signs of Spring, and new beginnings and that's a good thing!
Take Care, -Karen

Judy-
Congratulations on the new litters! They are adorable. I especially like the little smiling boy! Roxy now a year old,    has a little sister, a three-month-old collie mix from a local rescue group. She thinks Sophie is the best squeaky toy she’s ever had, and plays with her non-stop. Now that Sophie is a little bigger she is holding her own, and the two of them play very well together.
-Christine

 Judy-
How is it possible 2 years have gone by? Hugo is a wonderfully well adjusted, yet capably driven ambassador of his breed who garners praise from strangers like nobody's business!  We couldn't be happier with his intelligence and temperament. He has a fan club no matter where we go, seriously, I met a lady who knew who he was before I had a chance to say!!  Whether it's providing therapy for co-workers, kisses for our grand daughter or focus in Schutzhund, he always makes us feel simply blessed.  Watch Him Grow!

   Hi Judy- 1/12/08
Sully turned 1 on 12-18-07 and what a great dog he is.  The twins love him and at times they think he is a pony, he is gentle and best of all he tries to sit in my lap.  His favorite food is bacon and of course whatever the kids toss him from time to time, he sleeps outside the crate at night but if we are gone he is crated.  He loves to be outside, and now with the snow he thinks he is king and sits on the tallest mound for hours.  He has a big dog house full of straw incase he needs to get warm.  I am very greatful for you for allowing us to bring Sully home with us and make him a great part of this family. Our friends find him a bit scary, but once they meet him they realize that looks aren't always what they seem.  He loves kids and adults, especially when you come to visit!! :) He weighs about 102-105 pounds and as you see still that nice black coat, which we get groomed every 6 weeks. I think in a year or two once the twins are in kindergarten I would love to get Sully a playmate :)

Hi Judy- 11/24/07
I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how Maggie is doing. I’m sorry we haven’t written in a while, I broke my ankle and have been hobbling around for about six weeks.I took Maggie to the vet a couple weeks ago, and our little baby, weighed in at 50 lbs. The vet said she’d probably top out at 100 lbs. My little girl isn’t going to be little. Maggie is so fun to be around. She is so animated and so much fun, I just can’t imagine our lives without her. She’s become accustomed to waking the kids up in the morning by jumping on their beds and licking them out of sleep (which of course each of them loves). She’s super playful and can’t get enough of fetching balls and toys around the house and outside. She’s used to her bedroom (crate) now, and goes in there for quiet time whenever she wants. But, her favorite place to sleep is the hearth by the fireplace. She loves it – we call it Maggie’s throne. The best thing about her is she is always by my side. I’ve grown used to her being right next to me whenever I’m doing something – even laundry. Here’s the picture that is becoming our Christmas cards! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi Judy -  Just wanted to let you know that Emma is a joy to have around.  She is a very sure of herself - considering she had 2 other shepherds and 3 rat terriers to receive approval from.   She is eating well.  In fact, she now weighs 17 lbs.  She is sleeping through the night.  From the first time I saw her, I fell in love with her!!  Emma goes to work with me everyday.  She plays with the 2 shepherds, 1 beagle and 6 cats.  At home, she has 3 rat terriers, and 3 cats to play with.  She is a wonderful addition to our family.  Of course, I can't forget to mention how adorable she is.  Those little eyes peeking out from that ball of fuzz is simply irresistible.
This is just a note to thank you for parting with her!!!!
Thanks again, Pam

Hey Judy, I named the puppy Colby. He has become a part of the family very fast and is my new love of my life. He is such a great little puppy and I can't believe how quickly he as adapted. He only woke me up twice, once at 1 in the morning and the other time at 4 in the morning to go potty. Also, he is great when he has to go potty-all he does is cry and lets me know he has to go. I just love him to pieces. I'll be taking pictures and weigh him weekly to keep you updated. I'm so glad I've found you and have a new baby in my life. Thanks so much for everything! Elizabeth

Hi Judy-
Just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how Apollo (formerly Mr. Blue), is doing.  Apollo has gained 3 ounces in 2 days, learned to sit in about 30 seconds, has had only one accident in the house (my fault), and is charming the pants off everyone he meets.  He is extremely confident and although he is goofy and silly, he seems very mature emotionally.  The vet thought he was awesome, easy to handle and a beautiful representation of the GSD breed.  He went with me to work yesterday and will continue to do so.  He is a real momma's boy and will not let me out of his sight...exactly what I wanted.  Thank you so much for letting me bring him home.

Check these out Judy. This is Roz at puppy class - What a total HAM!   She is so smart and so eager to please, we just couldn't be happier with this pup.

Hi Judy,
Just thought I would give you a quick update on Crickett she is 41lbs at just over 4 months.  She gathers a crowd whenever we go out.  Lots of comments on how beautiful she is and how well behaved.  She knows all obedience commands already.  She is a phenomenal dog.  I have given complete strangers your email address because of how impressed they are with Crickett.  Thanks again for such a wonderful dog.

Judy-
Here is a current picture of Savanah.  She is doing good, growing fast!! She was 32.5 lbs today. She had a good Christmas yesterday, she got toys and played with each one of them.  Her and Cleo are fast friends, like sisters I would say, and they play almost continuously.  She still wants to ‘play’ with the cats, so they are not thrilled, but its getting better. She loves to play with the beagles during the day, and isn't sure what to think about the horses.  She has mastered the stairs and likes to go outside and will stay out there without us to explore and hang out.  We took her up to my parents on Saturday and she did the 1 ½ hour car ride like a trooper, she found her spot and slept there each way.  Her tummy has been good, she is on the accelerator and gets cottage cheese daily, and hamburger when we get it.   Her spirits are very high and I think she is in the puppy play/terrorize stage, she loves to romp and play and she is our source of energy and entertainment.  She was the star of the holidays, my parents got to meet her and fussed over her the whole time.  End of Jan I will wean her off the puppy food and am planning on taking her to an obedience class sometime Jan/Feb/March.  Will probably get her fixed in March, Cleo was neutered at 6 months and that seemed to work out ok.
She is doing well and the apple of our eye.  She is now starting to look very beautiful, she is getting more brown mixed in with the black.  She is going to be a wonderful adult dog.  She is quite special.
Hope all is well there, you and yours had wonderful holidays!
-Kris & Savannah

Judy,
It's good to hear from you, Samson is doing great! He
and our other dog Chunky are getting along and the cat
is beginning to come out of hiding and is very curious
about this new family member. The kids all love him.
We are amazed with him, he is going to be perfect for
our family. Thank you again from the bottom of my
heart for letting us adopt him and I promise we'll
take very special care of him. I'll check out that
brochure you sent and will study up on how to care for
him.

Judy,
Thanks so much for taking the time with us today. The kids and I are very excited about the new addition...now comes the name debate however! I will talk to you later in the week. Stay cool!

We love Riley dearly, she goes every where with us. She loves going to work with me, we walk downtown almost daily, she even thinks the chairs in front of Starbucks were made just for her to sit in. Everyone likes her, we get compliments every where we go and I've given your name to total strangers that have admired her look & personality. Her ears are up now and she is growing so fast.

Best regards,
Tammy

Tara has turned out to be a great GSD. She has already learned to sit at 10 1/2 weeks. Tara's ears are coming up nicely. The only thing we still need to work on it potty training, but we will get there. She is a very strong dog already pulls my 11 yr. old daughter around on her leash. We love Tara very much.
