Michigan K-9 Veterans Day Ceremony
WHO: Area Veterans Service Organizations, Dog clubs and
Towns people.Vietnam Dog Handler Association, U.S. War Dogs Assoc. Golden Retriever
Rescue Organization, Hanabrit German Shepherds, and the General Public is
invited.
WHAT: A reading to dedicate the heroics,
courage and loyalty War Dogs displayed fighting along side our men and women in
uniform.
A reading of the
Proclamation signed by Governor Rick Snyder
*Will include placing a
wreath at the Monument, A Flag Line and Taps will be played…if you would like
to place a wreath at the monument feel free to bring it with you.
WHY: Every year on March 13, K9
Veterans Day should honor not only those in the K9 Corps, but also the Police
K9s, Customs K9s, Border Patrol K9s, Secret Service K9s, Airport Police K9s,
F.B.I. K9s, and other working dogs that protect us every day against the War on
Terrorism. They deserve to be remembered
and have a day especially in their honor so we can honor and respect them for
their service.
